Thịt bò rửa sạch, thái miếng mỏng cho ra đĩa. Hành tây 1/2 thái mỏng, 1/2 thái đôi; hành tím lột vỏ. Tỏi đập dập, hành lá thái khúc, sả thái lát.
Cho me + nước dừa tươi + nước mắm + đường và hành tây+ hành tím + tỏi vào nồi, bắc lên bếp nấu lửa vừa. Nước me sôi khoảng 5-7 phút thì cho hết sả + hành lá và vài khoanh ớt sừng vào. Nếm lại xem vị chua ngọt vừa miệng thì tắt bếp.
